I shoot these of Becka Thomas Just before their game. Usually you have less then 5 min with an athlete and high priority (famous) clients. I took these three in about a one min. Obviously you need to be ready to go when they are. Your setup needs to be spot on. No time for test shots when the client is on location. I used
my Nikon D90 18-105 Nikon lens at 80mm 1/160 f3.2 and ISO 200. Lighting setup, my 24" softbox with in and outer defuser light stand set about 3-4 feet away on her left side, and my Nikon SB-600 Speedlight at 1/2 -.7 power and my Cactus V4s to remotely fire the flash. I also used my Minolta auto meter III (light meter) and metered of the wall for ambient light and metered the flash to get my f number.

I shot this nice man named Dick on Friday night he just happened to be playing for the art show. At first I was shooting him while he was playing, but I was blowing out the background because the light is terrible unless you are painting hanging on the wall.  So I asked if I could come back when he was finished playing for the night.  And obviously he agreed.  For the shoot I use my Nikon D2X  with my Nikon  50 mm  F1 .8 lens.  A shutter speed of 1/100 Aperture F2 .8 ISO 200.  Lighting set up, I used my 16 inch soft box with the outside diffuser on and some red cellophane stuck inside to take some of the nasty brownish color out of the piano, I use my Quandtaray QB 655/  set at full strength.  I also used my 24 inch soft box with the inner and outer diffuser on with my SB 600 speed light at quarter power and zoomed to 50 mm. And my cactus V4s two remotely fire my flashes.

This photo above shows the poor lighting conditions that I was experiencing prior to breaking out my studio lights.  As you can see the paintings in the background are blown out,  the subject still is not light enough also you can see the difference in the color of the piano the red filter made the piano a nicer look.

Saturday I e-mailed him a couple of the shots as a thank you and he liked them so much that I have a photo shoot on Friday with him.

This photo above is my stop action photo of the ball looks a little blurry I am not sure if it is slightly out of focus or if it is because my daughter hits the hell out of the ball.  She is looking forward to another undefeated season and another state championship.  Go Desert Hills Girls Golf.

This is my blurred motion photo.  I shot this photo using a thirty-second shutter speed, and fire at the flash inside the car while striving by.  I also set the camera to a 10 second delay.
